exim4
Installs Exim4 as a local-only mail server (Debian local config type): mail
for local users is delivered to ~/Maildir; nothing is sent to other hosts.
Debian/Ubuntu only. Requires become.
Variables
| Variable | Default |
|---|---|
exim4_hostname |
ansible_facts['fqdn'] |
exim4_listen |
[127.0.0.1, "::1"] |
exim4_smtp_ports |
[25] |
exim4_maildir |
Maildir |
exim4_dovecot_auth |
false |
exim4_dovecot_auth_socket |
/run/dovecot/auth-client |
exim4_hostname is used for HELO, /etc/mailname, and as a local domain.
Set exim4_dovecot_auth: true to offer SMTP AUTH (PLAIN/LOGIN) checked by
dovecot; this installs exim4-daemon-heavy (the light build lacks the dovecot
authenticator) and needs the dovecot role's dovecot_exim_auth: true. Add
587 to exim4_smtp_ports for a submission port.
Note: connections from 127.0.0.1 can relay without authenticating (Debian
default). Since the config is local-only, nothing leaves the machine.
